International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies
Newsletter Vol 10 - No 4 | August 2026
Dear ISSVA Members,
I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable summer and have found time to recharge with family, friends, and colleagues. As we move into the busy months ahead, I am delighted to welcome you back and share updates on the exciting work taking place across our society.
Following the tremendous success of the 2026 ISSVA World Congress in Philadelphia, our committees, volunteers, and leadership teams have continued to build momentum around ISSVA's mission of advancing education, research, collaboration, and patient care in vascular anomalies. We remain grateful for the enthusiasm and engagement of our members around the world.
This fall, we are especially excited about our upcoming Debates & Updates Meeting, taking place in Dublin, Ireland, 5-7 May 2027, which will provide valuable opportunities for learning, discussion, and connection within our multidisciplinary community. I encourage all members to participate and help make this initiative a success.
In addition, work is well underway on board initiatives to enhance the ISSVA Classification, increase our outreach to vascular neuroscientists, and engage with our industry partners in ways which benefit the ISSVA community. These efforts reflect ISSVA's ongoing commitment to fostering innovation, supporting physicians, and improving outcomes for patients worldwide.
We are also pleased to share updates regarding ISSVA's online presence. The Communications Committee has been hard at work expanding our virtual presence to include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Be sure to follow us for the latest updates from the Society. The dedication and expertise of our volunteers continue to strengthen our society and expand the opportunities available to our members.
As we look ahead, please keep the following important dates on your calendar:
Thank you for your continued commitment to ISSVA and to the patients and families we serve. I look forward to working alongside you in the months ahead and to all that we will accomplish together as a global community.
With best regards,
Juan-Carlos Lopez-Gutierrez
President, ISSVA
