ISSVA President's Message

Dear ISSVA Colleagues,

As I mentioned in my last message, the newly formed ISSVA Committees & Working Groups have begun their work, and we expect that progress will be made in the next half year. As we continue to learn and assess the needs of each group based on the feedback from members, the Board of Directors has recently approved a revised description for the Patient Support Committee:

Purpose:
The ISSVA Patient Support Committee serves as a collaborative bridge between the vascular anomaly patient community and medical professionals. Its mission is to enhance patient representation, engagement, and advocacy within ISSVA by identifying unmet needs, supporting educational initiatives, and advising on research and clinical priorities. Members of this committee are not representing specific groups, but the patient community as a whole.

Composition:
The committee is composed of both patient advocates and medical professionals, with a strong emphasis on patient leadership:

Responsibilities:

We are eager to get this important committee off the ground. If you applied for this committee during the original Call for Committee Members, your application will be reviewed for acceptance.

General Assembly - 17 August 2025
Each year per the ISSVA Bylaws, a General Assembly of the membership is held to update everyone on the status of ISSVA's activities. This year, the General Assembly will take place virtually via Zoom on Sunday, 17 August. Please check your email for the information to join the meeting.

2026 ISSVA World Congress
The ISSVA 2026 World Congress will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 19-22 May 2026. Watch your email for notification about abstract submission deadlines in the coming weeks.
